Michigan Gateway Community Foundation hosted the 2017 YAC Orientation on October 14, 2017. Attending the program, twenty YAC students learned about their roles in responding to and serving youth needs in their community.
The orientation was facilitated by Chelsea Holmes, Program Coordinator, Learning Services from Council of Michigan Foundations.

Several team building exercises started the day’s activities. A presentation titled “YAC 101” explained more about YAC and students’ roles in the program.
The MGCF YAC also hosted two members from the Berrien Community Foundation youth group called TEAM (Teens Exhibiting Able Minds). The TEAM members are shown at right with their advisor Adrienne Glisson.
Orientation ended with a presentation on “Diversity in Recruitment” and the important ways differences can make teams stronger.
MGCF staff looks forward to working with this great group of exceptional students as they learn and develop as community leaders.
